Voice প্রধানতঃ ২ প্রকার - Active Voice, এবং Passive Voice
Active Voice: যে voice এ, subject, verb এর ক্রিয়াটি সরাসরি object এর উপর প্রয়োগ করে, তাকে active voice বলে।
Active voice এ আমরা দেখি subject সরাসরি object এর উপর verb এর action টি প্রয়োগ করে। active voice এর কয়েকটি উদাহরণ দেখি।
He kicks the ball.
এখানে subject হলো he , he সরাসরি ball কে kick করে।
পরের উদাহরণ, The tiger killed the deer.
এখানে tiger সরাসরি deer কে kill করলো/করেছিল।
Tense এর chapter এ আমরা যত sentence দেখেছি, সেগুলো সব active voice এ আছে।
এবার দেখা যাক Passive Voice কাকে বলে?
Passive Voice: যে voice এ, subject অর্থাৎ doer (প্রকৃত অর্থে যে কাজটি করে ) এর গুরুত্ব কম বা নাই , কিন্তু object এর প্রাধান্য বেশি, এবং object এর উপর কাজটি subjec দ্বারা হয় বা ঘটে বোঝায়, তাকে Passive Voice বলে।
কয়েকটি উদাহরণ দিলে বিষয়টি আরো clear হবে।
The school was built in 1992.
স্কুলটি ১৯৯২ সালে তৈরি হয়েছিল।
লক্ষ্য করতে হবে কে তৈরি করেছিল তার কোনো উল্লেখ নেই।
They were served food.
তাদের খেতে দেওয়া হয়েছিল।
কে বা কারা খেতে দিয়েছিলো তার উল্লেখ নেই। অর্থাৎ doer এর উল্লেখ নেই।
The topic will be discussed in the meeting.
বিষয়টি মিটিঙে আলোচনা হবে। কে বা কারা আলোচনা করবে তার কোনো উল্লেখ নেই।
উপরের উদাহরণে কোনো বাক্যেই doer বা যে কাজটি করে তাদের গুরুত্ব নেই।
আরো কিছু উদাহরণ দেখা যাক।
He was invited by me.
তাকে নিমন্ত্রণ করা হয়েছে আমার দ্বারা।
এখানে তাকে নিমন্ত্রণ করা হয়েছে , অংশটি বেশি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ , কার দ্বারা সেটা ততটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নয়।
Gitanjali was written by Tagore.
Gitanjali লেখা হয়েছে Tagore এর দ্বারা। এখানেও Gitanjali এর গুরুত্ব বেশি।
The road was built by the villagers.
রাস্তাটি গ্রামবাসীদের দ্বারা তৈরি হয়েছে।
এখানেও গ্রামবাসীদের দ্বারা অপেক্ষা রাস্তাটি তৈরি হয়েছে বেশি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
The deer was killed by the tiger.
হরিণটি নিহত হয়েছে বাঘের দ্বারা।
Change the Voice:
চলো দেখা যাক voice change কিভাবে করতে হয়।
প্রথমেই আলোচনা করবো voice change এর নিয়ম অর্থাৎ active থেকে passive করার নিয়ম এবং passive থেকে active করার নিয়ম।
Voice change করতে গেলে Tense এর knowledge জরুরি, তবে এখানে আমি একটি voice শেখার সহজ উপায় আলোচনা করছি। ভালো ভাবে লক্ষ্য করো।
আলোচনাটা হবে voice change in Bengali
General Active Voice এর পরিবর্তনের নিয়ম:
Active voice: She is writing a letter.
Passive Voice: A letter is being written by her.

Rules of Voice Change ( Voice Change Rules):
Step 1. Active voice এর object, passive voice এর subject হবে।
Step 2. Active voice এর auxiliary verb (যদি থাকে), passive voice এ আসবে, এবং subject অনুযায়ী বসবে।
Step 3. Be verb বসবে - active voice এর main verb এর form অনুযায়ী। অর্থাৎ main verb এর form কে ভালো করে বুঝে সেই মতো be verb বসবে।
Step 4. Main Verb এর Past Participle form (ppf) বসবে।
Step 5. By (to, at, with) বসবে।
Step 6. Active voice এর subject, passive voice এর object হবে।
Voice Change এর General Sentence Form:
Subject (active এর object) + auxiliary verb (যদি থাকে) + Be verb (active এর main verb এর form অনুযায়ী) + Main Verb এর Past Participle form + By (at, to,with) + Object (active এর subject)
Voice change Examples:
Active Voice: They were playing cards Change the voice
Passive Voice: Cards were being played by them.
Active Voice: He kept us waiting Change the voice
Passive Voice: We were kept waiting by him.
Active Voice: They left the town Voice change
Passive Voice: The town was left by them.
Active Voice: He found the room locked Voice change
Passive Voice: The was found locked by him.
Active Voice: All his friends laughed at him Change the voice
Passive Voice: He was laughed at by all his friends.
Active Voice: I know you Change the voice
Passive Voice: You are known to me.
Active Voice: They are flying kites Change the voice
Passive Voice: Kites are being flown by them.
Active Voice: I saw him opening the box Change the voice
Passive Voice: He was seen opening the box by me.
or, By me he was seen opening the box.
Active Voice: Children read books Change the voice
Passive Voice: Books are read by children.
Active Voice: This news surprises me Change the voice
Passive Voice: I was surprised at this news.
Active Voice: You do your homework daily Change the voice
Passive Voice: Your homework is done by you daily.
or, Your homework is done daily by you.
Active Voice: His conduct amazed us Change the voice
Passive Voice: We were amazed at his conduct.
Active Voice: He shuts the gate Change the voice
Passive Voice: The gate is shut by him.
Active Voice: He purchased a new bicycle Change the voice
Passive Voice: A new bicycle was purchased by him.
Active Voice: They occupy all the rooms Change the voice
Passive Voice: All the rooms are occupied by them.
Active Voice: We follow the traffic rules Change the voice
Passive Voice: The traffic rules are followed by us.
Active Voice: I have seen a lot of places Change the voice
Passive Voice: A lot of places have been seen by me.
Active Voice: He makes nice tea Change the voice
Passive Voice: Nice tea is made by him.
Active Voice: They are playing football Change the voice
Passive Voice: Football is being played by them.
Active Voice: I know him Change the voice
Passive Voice: He is known to me.
Active Voice: They laugh at us Voice change
Passive Voice: We are laughed at by them.
Active Voice: The culprit confessed his guilt Change the voice
Passive Voice: The culprit's guilt was confessed by him.
Active Voice: They helped us to do the renovation work Voice change
Passive Voice: We were helped to do the renovation work by them.
or, We were helped by them to do the renovation work.
Active Voice: Few girls can resist flattery Voice change
Passive Voice: Flattery can be resisted by few girls.
Active Voice: She is writing a letter Change the voice
Passive Voice: A letter is being written by her.
Active Voice: The boy laughed at the beggar Change the voice
Passive Voice: The beggar was laughed at by the boy.
Active Voice: The traveller knocks at the door of the abandoned house.
Passive Voice: The door of the abandoned house is knocked at by the traveller.
Active Voice: She had read the story Change the voice
